Clean Slate

Alas, my short-attention-span-tendencies have become apparent in my posting behaviors already. Well, as the title suggests, I'm hoping to turn over a metaphorical leaf and renew my commitment to regularly posting on this dear, little blog of mine. (That's a hard, yet invaluable life lesson I've learned/am still continuously learning: the importance of giving oneself a second chance and recognizing that life is usually more than ready to give a person a second chance. That being said however, it is also important to realize that sometimes an opportunity is too precious to blow on the hope that you'll get another one just like it. Ah, the contradictions of life ...)

To briefly catch up what I've been up to for the past few weeks or so, here are some choice phrases which pretty effectively summarize the putterings of my life:

-Major senioritis upswing - (didn't think that was possible in my case but apparently it is =/)
-Grade endangerment due to senioritis upswing - ('twill be a happy day the day I don't have to worry about grades anymore XP)
-Usual depressive mode which comes with poor academic performance - (again, 'twill be a happy day the day I don't have to worry about grades anymore >.<)
-Troubles with my atrocious tardiness habit - (at times I am convinced I am living in an alternate universe that runs 5 minutes later than the real universe. That, of course, is a right bit of nonsense and merely a pitiful attempt at making myself feel better, but really, things are getting out of hand. Well, I suppose in the spirit of this "Clean Slate post," I suppose it's worth a shot to vow, yet again, that Elaine Julia Wu will do her very best to not be late anymore!)
-Some  events I went to (that I can remember at the moment) that I am proud of: LGBT Ally Training (got my certificate and everything ^.^), Curtis Orchard (brief) expedition (hello turkeys and overpriced apples!), and SJE potluck/game night extravaganza (what a lovely group of peoples <3), Halloween @ Crisis Nursery w/ baby girl - (there's nothing quite like the feeling of rocking a child to sleep ... Children are such magical, beautiful, trusting beings)
-On the flip side, people often ask me how I go about wasting my time, so here's a short list of how a pro gets it done: tetrisfriends.com (I'm pretty sure this site was created by some evil genius out there .... =P), Dharma & Greg, Sudoku, Craig Ferguson, eating ice cream.... Yup, that's pretty much what's been going on this month but trust me, there are plenty more other idle activities I fall back on to waste my time ...
-In the past 48 hours ... Visit back to home sweet home; sudden inspiration to write a novel - (stay tuned for details); major nerves over the big TFA announcement tomorrow (ACK! Prepared to hear the worst ....); and on the brink of signing up for the 2011 Christie Clinic half marathon; meaningful day @ internship - (never underestimate the impact a person's actions can have on another)

Well, since I've vowed to not be late anymore (for the 1000298th time), I'd better hurry up and wrap this post up. Wishing everyone all the best in any endeavors they may have in pursuing their own new beginnings. =)
